Happy Friday!

{image by curlytops}

"We are all mortal until the first kiss and the second glass of wine.”
-Eduardo Galeano

I don't know what it is about long holiday weekends that make your shortened work week seem sooooo damn lonnnnggggg.

But anyways Friday is FINALLY here, which means tomorrow is glorious Saturday, which means sundresses, good friends, a beautiful open field and the best wine festival on the planet (or in Northern Virginia anyway). Ugh, I can't wait.

Last year, we drank and laughed the whole day long. And even when the rain started pouring, the wine kept flowing. We left with bottles of wine in hand, soaking wet, covered in mud, still laughing.

... I'm kind of praying for rain tomorrow.

Have a great weekend everybody!

Oregon Trail

It never fails: I love everything that comes out of the Portland area. Beer. Wine. Fashion. Food. Coincidence? Or a sign that that's where I truly belong?! We shall see...

Here is yet another example: Avant-garde designer Kate Towers.

Pretty stuff you got there lady.

fotografie friday

I'm so happy right now. It's beautiful out (finally!) and it's Friday.

What are you girlies up to this weekend?

Tonight I'm going to the movies with the boy and tomorrow I'm helping my mom pick out a new puppy for mother's day.  Should be a fun one.

Hope you have a good one, too :)

So, after this little piece of perfection caught my eye...

{via the sartorialist}

...my need, desire, compulsion, etc. to find a pair of nude pumps has resurfaced from last spring.

Now, as splendid as it would be to have these easy-to-find Christian Louboutins in hand, my wallet is burning just looking at them. So, I went on a shoe hunt for few budget-friendlier alternatives.

Check out these little treasures:

So, I think my mental vacation has gone on long enough.

Have you ever just had one of those weeks where the stress of work - or school, or however you fill your 9-5 - is more than you can handle? I have been so bogged down that my head can't deal with any intellectual overflow from the outside world - I've only made it to page 34 of the light reading I started almost 2 weeks ago. Ridic. When I finally (and fully) kick this feeling, I believe I will need a serious night out! Ladies, strap on your boozin' shoes.

Anyways, here's some stuff that did manage to catch my attention this past week:

I miss NYC: topshopocalypse.

a complete list of the different kinds of people there are.

spring has sprung in DC.

a high school friend's start up is taking off, big time.

origami goes high fashion.

do it in paris.

the freakishly-real Big Man at the Hirshhorn.

coco avant chanel.

sessun summer 09 lookbook.

commemorate Kurt Cobain.

tumblr.

hey pretty

I'm crazy for the intricate details and brilliant colors from Brazilian designer Maria Bonita Extra.

The Spring '09 silhouettes skim the body with a silky freshness. Cuban-style hats, mannish shoes and winged sandals (reminiscent of Icarus) accent every look, offsetting the light pastels and floral touches. I love the collection's femininity - the line is refreshing, yet simple, especially compared to seasons past.

Now, if I could only figure out where to shop them online.

c'mon already

Today feels slightly more like spring, which makes me SO incredibly happy (it doesn't take much lately). But I could seriously deal with less wind, less cold, less gloomy.

Fingers crossed for a sunshiney weekend...

Happy Friday folks.

Daydreaming about the ocean as I work busily on this lovely first day of spring.

Have a good weekend. xoxo.

head over heels

I've been hearing/seeing a lot about the ladies of Marais USA, out of Brooklyn. So, I figured I'd have myself a look. Once I clicked over, I quite literally swooned when I saw these amazing shoes (shown above). Not only are these cute little numbers greater than or equal to perfection, the prices are pretty fabulous, too. What more could a shoe loving girl ask for!

So singing the praises of these ladies right now. Check out Marais USA right here.

P.S. I love the Prince peep toe wedge and the Crosby gladiator, yumm.
