For the past few weeks I have been on the hunt for a little dress for an event I am going to this week - The Best of Washington party at the National Building Museum. I searched high and low for a unique piece but failed miserably in my search.

If only I would have given into a little bit of temptation, I may have ended up with one of these Mara Hoffman babies I've been lusting over for so long...

Hoffman is such an eclectic with her culturally-inspired threads, expertly draped silhouettes and bold prints - definitely a personal favorite.

And to think she got her start just by looking great, walking the streets of New York.

With my future trip planning - to NYC.  A Sex and the City tour giveaway - in NYC.  And my friend Amy visiting DC this weekend - from NYC. I'm getting a little city hungry.

Immediately this had me looking at the Left at Houston line by husband and wife team Danny & Carla Hogg - creators of SEA-NY.

Named after Houston Street in New York City - a diving point between neighborhoods - the collection showcases old meets new by rejuvenating designs that have been absent for quite some time - an unconventional left of center approach to fashion.

Loving this lookbook. Takes me right to the city.

One of my absolute favorite designers Margarita Saplala - I've posted on her many times before - recently launched an exclusive Spring 2010 line at Barney's Co-op.

I love that each piece in her collection is standout and unique, no matter what the season. If the print isn't vivid, the cut is stunning.

I'll take one of everything. No. Really.

After seeing Element Eden's spring 2010 lookbook, it was hard to put it out of my immediate memory.

This new, free-spirited collection finds the Eden girl on an inward journey of the soul. Featuring bold fabrics, pastel hues and feminine silhouettes, this line has me searching for an escape to warmer climates. The pictures are beautiful, too.

I also love the visionaries behind the line - so inspiring.

Very excited about Anthropologie's sister line Leifsdottir, a young designer collection by Finland native Johanna Uurasjarvi.

Meaning “daughter of Leif,” Leifsdottir expresses an appreciation for the Scandinavian custom of inheriting your father’s name as your surname at birth by reflecting a sense of convention and authenticity in each and every piece in the collection.

Spanish-based clothing line Blanco never fails to disappoint.  Each season is all around chic, simple and fun. And the Spring 2010 line is no exception. The collection is irresistible and fully brightens my mood.

Dutch beauty Marloes Horst is looking wonderfully youthful and fresh-faced here, too - quite different from the norm.

The last thing I want to do these days is look at anything related to cold/snow/wind/rain (i.e. fall clothing).

Good thing there are beautiful spring lookbooks like this one from Talula to distract me from the shivery outdoors :)

The setting really caught my eye: scattered roses, skulls, pentagrams, old books and antique cabinets. Magical and so different from the norm.

The line by Dace Moore was launched in 2002 in her native British Columbia, and is inspired by the thrift store flair her mother brought home as a child.
