simple truth

Beautiful photographs by Brooklyn-based artist Jennifer Causey.

Growing up in the South, Jennifer is captivated by minimalism and the homemade. She loves exploring nature and finding the beauty in every day.

See more of work on her site. And be sure to check out her lovely wedding photography and daily breakfast photos. Simple and beautiful.

home sweet home

So happy today!

Tonight my friend (and soon-to-be housemate!) Beth and I are heading into my hometown of Frederick for dinner at Volt. We've been to this glorious place before and eaten in the lounge, but it has taken us just about a year to actually snag a table in the dining room on a weekend night. So, needless to say, I can't wait. Delicious food in my favorite downtown with a good friend. Doesn't get any better.

Happy Friday all. Any good plans?

happy weekend

 Why WHY do the weekends just fly by? I feel like the older I get the shorter my Saturdays and Sundays.

Maybe because I'm just having too much fun?

Perhaps :)

Saturday was packed full of fun, but I feel like I need a week to recoup! We had an office outing at Paradise Springs Winery in Clifton, Virginia. It was amazing. They set aside the barn just for us, and we picnicked and wine tasted for a few hours before heading back into DC.

You can see some pictures from our time there on my friend Beth's food blog Dining and Dishing.

Once returning to the city, a few of us headed over to AGAINN, a British gastropub located downtown. I absolutely loved the place - I just wish I hadn't been sipping wine in the hours before so I could have really enjoyed it. Instead I just threw back as much food as possible! I suppose I will just have to go back ;)

Such a great weekend, full of good wine, good food, and good friends.

What'd you do this weekend?

{PC: daily dose}

After reading French Milk, all I want for breakfast, lunch and dinner is a cheese plate, baguette and a tall glass of vin. I can't stand it.

P.S. If you want a quick/easy read, this sweet little book may be the one for you. If you want substance, move on immediately :)
