Favorite trend emerging out of the faltering economy: more designers partnering with big chains to provide great clothing to frugal fans.

The newest designer to jump on the bandwagon (joining Christian Siriano, Matthew Williamson, the myriad designers for Target, etc.) is Rachel Roy.

The eponymous line - a Macy's exclusive hitting stores in August - is a vast departure from the elegance of Roy's fall '09 RTW, featuring loud patterns and pops of color. But she promises WWD, "It has the same designer sensibility," and thankfully, a far more attractive price tag.

I love this brilliant idea. I really like McQ at Target.

I resisted the Twilight Saga at first too. I'm really glad I caved. I think I will have to reread New Moon right before the movie opens in Nov.
