For all of you typography lovers out there, I got a *tad* excited when I saw this quiz on Pentagram and I just had to pass it along.

After answering four simple questions I learned that I am the font equivalent of Archer Hairline:  a modern typeface with a straightforward appearance - but one that has tiny outbreaks of elegance and tiny dots of emotion.

Sounds a little like me :)

Love the concept behind these works by Cardon Copy.

The process involves 'hijacking' illegible and uninspired fliers and tear-offs from neighborhoods near and far and treating them to a redesign that overpowers their message with a new visual language. Then, the originals are replaced with the new typographic works of art, ultimately cleaning up the neighborhood. Brilliant.

I'm a serious lover of typography - I could browse fonts all the live long day. From the intricacy of the original craft to the ease of today's design, it has always been an artform that I appreciate. Though Croatian visual artist Vladimir Koncar's interpretation is different, I still have the same admiration. Imagine the tediousness of collecting and arranging the pieces to compose these typefaces. Crazy facinating. And incredibly funny.

Love this. Graphic artist Phil Yamada created his own version of the alphabet using acrylic paint on scrap sheets of newspaper. His letterforms are incredibly innovative, and many give a nod to pop culture marvels (i.e. clockwork orange, pacman, American Gothic, pez, etc.) The result is surprisingly stunning.

For all you book-hoarding, design-loving, typography-obsessed folks out there, this may be one of the coolest sites ever.

Now I try to "never judge a book by its cover," as the idiom says. But, I can't help but fall hard and fast for a book when the beauty of the words inside are matched by the beauty of the design outside.
