short and sweet
A couple weeks back a new friend took me to the DC Shorts Film Festival - a screenplay competition featuring 97 films and 6 screenplays from 11 different countries.
The festival ended last week but was such a great to-do that I had to share. The films were so unique and really stuck with me - proving that even the deepest stories can be told well in less than 20 minutes.
Each of the nine showcases in the series featured a dozen or so films over a two-hour period, followed by events with the filmmakers and actors. Audience members also got to vote on their favorites.
One of my picks, God of Love, won audience favorite and will be featured in more festivals this year.
If you are in the DC area, a screenplay competition featuring candidates for the 2011 festival is happening October 16. More Info.
Also, if you'd like a mini tour of my new place, see my roommate's blog. Hope you like! xo
