in the bag

Amy at Every Little Counts tagged me a little while back to spill what's in my bag.

......

The bag:

I carry this bad boy around much of the year.

A Sigrid Olsen bag I purchased a few years back when I lived in New York (I don't even think she makes handbags anymore).  It really is time to retire this guy, but it seems like every time I buy a new bag I always end up coming back to this one.

Inside:

Clockwise from left to right:

The Electric Michelangelo - I have to have a book in tow. Always.

Gum - I try to keep gum or mints in my bag - you never know when you might need to freshen up ;)

Hand lotion - Another must-have. Especially in the colder months. This I'm really loving: Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream. Ridiculously intense. And actually heals cracked, chapped hands almost immediately.

Dior Gloss Show lip gloss - I acquired this when working at a magazine in NYC. I'm trying to see how long I can make it last. It's just too good but and not at all wallet friendly for it's tiny size - a bad combination.

Perfume - Just like I said about the gum, you never know when you might need a little freshening up. I always keep a roll-on perfume with me for those surprise bites to eat, happy hours, drinks with a friend. Helps the transition from work to out. My nighttime choice for winter and early spring is usually something a little stronger. Right now Stella by Stella McCartney is the one.

Chapstick - I usually have too many of these in my purse. Current sticks: Nivea A Kiss of Moisture Hydrating Lip Care and C.O. Bigelow's Lemon Pomegranate Lip Shine (the Cinnamint is the best though!)

Passport - Don't ask why - it's just always with me. I wish I had some great reason like I'm a serial jetsetter, but that is so far from the truth.

Sunglasses - I have SO MANY pairs of sunglasses but I always try to keep a pair in my purse. I just picked this pair up the other day, by Calvin Klein.

Wallet - Obviously. I'm in love with this one. From Anthropologie circa a few years back. I absolutely adore the owl print fabric inside.

Storage - I always carry a little bag with me in it with daily necessities (hair ties, pins, safety pins, makeup, etc.) This particular one is a Vera Bradley brush bag I picked up at a little shop on the Upper East Side. Great for small items.

Change purse - Typically my bag ends up full of change though I rarely carry cash. A phenomenon I will never fully understand. That's where this little gem comes in handy....

Christian Dior Vintage Change Purse

So pretty.

This was in the lost and found at my mom's work. No one claimed it after a year, so my mom brought it home to me as a gift. I will never let it out of my sight.

And finally, necessities: iPhone/headphones and keys. I never go anywhere without either of these things, even if I nix the bag.

That's it! Whew!

Now, I'm tagging:

That'll do.

~Enjoy~
